Mark your spot
Lay your sweatshirt, shirt, or garment flat. Decide where you want the access opening, then mark a small dot at the point where the center of the patch should sit.
Treatment can change a lot. What you wear shouldn’t have to be one of those things.
Meet PortPatch: an press-on fabric patch with an integrated zipper, designed to help adapt the clothes you already love for medical access.

Medical treatment can mean adjusting clothing, changing into a gown, or searching for specialized adaptive garments. We believe there should be an affordable way to keep your own clothes part of the experience.
PortPatch is developing a user-applied patch with an integrated closure. The goal is simple: create an access point in existing clothing while preserving the comfort and personal style that make it yours.
Create an access opening in the clothes you already love. Follow these application instructions, step by step.
Before you start: lay the garment flat and have a marking tool, a spoon, and scissors ready. Apply and cut with the garment off your body.
Lay your sweatshirt, shirt, or garment flat. Decide where you want the access opening, then mark a small dot at the point where the center of the patch should sit.
Turn the patch over. Locate the adhesive around all four sides of the back. Peel away the protective backing from the top, bottom, left, and right edges to expose the adhesive.
Place the patch over your mark, with the center aligned to the dot. Press all four adhesive edges onto the garment in the position you want.
Press firmly around the entire patch, including all four sides and corners. Run the rounded back of a spoon firmly along the top, bottom, left, and right edges to create an even seal.
Unzip the patch to expose the garment underneath. With the garment off your body, carefully cut away only the garment fabric inside the opening. Keep the patch, zipper, and adhesive edges intact.
Your access opening is ready to use. Place the garment in the dryer briefly for an even firmer seal. Check the garment’s care label first.

CEO & Founder
“I wanted people to keep wearing what makes them feel like themselves.”
I’m Delaney, the CEO and Founder of PortPatch. Living with chronic migraine and receiving regular treatments has shown me how much the little things can matter during treatment—especially feeling comfortable in your own clothes.
When you’re already navigating a medical condition, what you wear can become one more thing to work around. A favorite shirt may make access difficult. A hospital gown can leave you feeling less like yourself. And replacing your wardrobe with specialized adaptive clothing isn’t always affordable or practical.
The device used for my treatments is removed when treatment ends. For people with long-term ports, feeding tubes, and other medical devices, clothing access can be an everyday consideration. That helped me see a need beyond my own experience: a simple way for people to adapt the clothes they already love.
That’s where PortPatch began. An press-on fabric patch with an integrated zipper could offer an access point without asking someone to give up their style or buy an entirely new wardrobe. From early prototypes to conversations with patients, caregivers, and providers, I’ve kept dignity, comfort, and affordability at the center of the idea.
My goal is to make treatment days a little easier for adults, children, and the people who care for them. I can’t choose every part of my medical experience, but I can choose what I do with it. With PortPatch, I’m turning that experience into something with purpose.
We’re building thoughtfully—and being clear about where we are.
PortPatch is an press-on adhesive fabric patch concept with an integrated zipper or closure. It is being developed as a kit that lets people adapt existing clothing for medical access.
People whose treatment or medical devices require access through clothing, and the caregivers who support them. Patient and caregiver experiences help guide the design.
Choose your patch in our shop. Adult patches are $8, $10, and $12; child patches are $6, $8, and $10 for Small, Medium, and Large. Shipping is $5 per order. Checkout is available to preview; payment and order placement will open after our payment provider is confirmed.
Fabric compatibility, application requirements, and intended uses are still being evaluated. Final product guidance will be needed before use. Clothing access needs should be discussed with the person’s care team.
Instead of replacing an entire wardrobe with specialized clothing, PortPatch focuses on adapting clothes people already own. Affordability, comfort, independence, and personal identity are the guiding goals.
